I practice in the McAuley outpatient clinic where I collaborate with providers to help patients achieve success with their antiretroviral therapy. Much of my research interests involve antiretroviral resistance and supporting pharmacist run HIV Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP).

I am the specialty pharmacist for HIV and transplant patients at Trinity Health Pharmacy – Wege Center, our ACHC accredited specialty pharmacy. My main role is working closely with both the HIV and kidney transplant clinics to optimize care for our patients. I am also part of the Quality Management Committee and lead the performance improvement initiatives for our specialty program. My primary interests include HIV, kidney transplant, performance improvement, chronic disease state management and medication adherence.

My clinical practice and research interests are primarily focused on the role and impact of the pharmacist in the resuscitation setting and in antimicrobial stewardship efforts. My experience has allowed me to expand my role to include clinical, educational and leadership service in providing care to marginalized and vulnerable populations in low- and limited-resource settings throughout the world.

I currently practice in the ambulatory setting for kidney transplant to provide care to kidney transplant recipients and living donors. I am a member of the transplant adverse events committee, transplant quality assurance and performance improvement committee, and the transplant review team that assesses which patients should be added to the kidney transplant waitlist or approved to donate a kidney.

My practice interests include transitions of care, immunizations, and improving health literacy.

My professional interests include shock, resuscitation, drug dosing in kidney replacement therapy and health equity. I am the Trinity Health PI of a 16-site study on in-hospital cardiac arrest, which received the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP) Critical Care PRN Multicenter Research Grant, and co-author of an ACCP White Paper and Best Practices paper on health equity.

My other roles include the Trinity Health Pulmonary & Critical Care Clinical Excellence Council – Optimized Evidence-Based Care Quality expert panel, Secretary of the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM) Michigan Chapter, Chair-Elect of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP) Health Equity Practice & Research Network and faculty reviewer for the ACCP BCCCP Course Workbooks, CCSAP book chapters, and PSAP book chapters.

Hobbies/Interests Outside of Work

I'm an avid traveler and love being outside, whether it's hiking, rock climbing, snorkeling, canyoneering or ziplining. I'm also fond of cooking, live music (indie, ska, pop, rock, and more) and submerging otherwise healthy foods into my deep fryer.

I have a passion for antimicrobial stewardship in the emergency department, as well as clinical interests in cardiology and toxicology. My research involvement has included antimicrobial stewardship and sedation management in the emergency department. I enjoy being hands on and working side by side with our ED nurses and providers in the management of traumatic and medical emergencies.
