I have been dedicated to Graduate Medical Education (GME) for over a decade, overseeing surgical and non-surgical specialties. I am committed to fostering the development of future physicians and enhancing training programs. I value Trinity Health’s strong culture and unwavering investment in medical education.

Having lived in Grand Rapids for 30 years, I appreciate the community and enjoy the proximity to Lake Michigan. No matter what the season is, there is always something fun to do in Grand Rapids.

Teaching and supervising medical residents and medical students is my primary passion in my role as a hospitalist. I rediscovered this passion after stepping away from my ten year long position as the medical director of our hospitalist group where I also served as chief of medicine and chairman of our clinical quality improvement committee. I believe these experiences enhanced my ability to be a more well rounded teacher and physician.

Why I chose to practice at Mercy Health/Grand Rapids...

Practicing medicine in the Grand Rapids area and more specifically Mercy Health Saint Mary's has been a true blessing. I respect the balance I have witnessed at this institution between excellent clinical care and a truly compassionate level of care. I also enjoy the collegiality I experience with both the nursing staff and the consultant physicians.
