Interview Process

In alignment with recommendations from AAIM, ASCO, and ASH, all interviews for the 2025–2026 academic year will be conducted virtually to ensure a fair and equitable process for all candidates. To promote transparency and support informed decision-making, our program will participate in Program Signaling this season. While we give priority to applicants who signal our program, we also welcome and thoughtfully consider applications from those who do not, as part of our holistic review process.

The following should be included when submitting your ERAS application:

  • Three years of Internal Medicine residency training at an ACGME accredited institution (three years complete at time of application or expected to complete by June 30, 2026).
  • Foreign medical graduates should have ECFMG certification
  • Three letters of recommendation, one of which should be from your Program Director
  • Strong personal statement emphasizing commitment to hematology/oncology
  • CV
  • USMLE score reports
  • Medical school transcript and MSPE

Unfortunately, we are not able to sponsor H-1B visas. We can sponsor J-1 visas.

Interview invitations will begin going out on August 18, 2025. Invitations will be distributed on Tuesdays and Fridays after 3:00 p.m. EDT, as to not interfere with applicants’ morning rounding. Invited applicants will be able to select from a range of interview dates between mid-September and late October. Each interview day will begin with a program overview, followed by five individual 20-minute interviews with our faculty. These sessions are designed to be conversational and informative, with time built in for applicants to ask questions and learn more about our program’s structure, values, and opportunities. To close out each interview, we’ll host a virtual meet-and-greet with current fellows. While this informal session is not part of the evaluation process, it offers a valuable opportunity to hear directly from our trainees about their experiences—educational, clinical, and personal—living and training in Ann Arbor.

We’re excited to meet you and share what makes our fellowship a supportive and enriching place to grow.
